Tekken 8 Season 2 Update Sparks Backlash from Players 6i652l
The release of Tekken 8’s Season 2 update has stirred frustration within the community. Despite expanding the roster with the addition of Anna Williams and introducing a new Fight , the update has faced significant criticism. 2e586m
Initially, there were plans to implement chip damage for throw breaks, but this was reversed after player backlash. Now, with the Season 2 update live, several changes have been made, including the addition of eight new ranks, a reset of all Season 1 ranks, adjustments to how points are gained or lost in ranked matches, and improvements to matchmaking.
However, the update hasn’t been well received. Players, including notable figures like Arslan Ash, Stephen “Speedkicks” Stafford, and Akhil “Tetsu” Kakar, have voiced their dissatisfaction. Some are concerned about new balance changes, including buffs and new moves for characters that have led to “touch of death” combos and game-breaking interactions. The changes have resulted in the game dropping to “mostly negative” reviews on Steam.
Tekken 8’s update has introduced more 50/50 options for players, leading to complaints that the gameplay feels broken, with many saying “if all the fighters are broken, nobody is.” As of now, neither Bandai Namco nor director Katsuhiro Harada has addressed the community’s concerns, leaving players hoping for adjustments in future updates.
